CHICAGO, IL (August 14, 2012) – Dallas, Texas will become the talk of fashionistas as the Latino Fashion Week National Tour comes to Dallas, Thursday, August 16, 2012 at Lofty Spaces, 816 Montgomery Street, Dallas, Texas.

Now celebrating its 6th year anniversary, Latino Fashion Week includes runway shows, celebrity appearances, VIP after parties and much, much more. This year’s theme, ‘Images of Fashion’ honors and pays tribute to the photography and film elements of the industry. Established as the premier resource institution for those in the Latino fashion industry, Latino Fashion Week is the only fashion week in the United States created to support the talent of local, national and international Latino designers and models.

Latino Fashion Week, known for its international appeal, will feature designers from as far away as Peru and San Juan, Puerto Rico. Designers that will be presenting include:

YIRKO SIVIRICH: In 2007, Yirko launched his own brand of “The Closet”, making an immediate hit with the fashion market increasingly demanding the country. Yirko is called by various media including TV, print and digital publications to submit their creations in various campaigns, fashion editorials and fashion shows with top models from Peru. After studying at the prestigious fashion school Mod’Art (Peru), he started doing shows in local and international gateways, such as Chile and Argentina. This is where Yirko is selected as a semifinalist for the international program “Project Runway “(Spanish version), and after that, begins to dress the most important figures of local television.

POLITE, one of the most trendy, daring and creatively irreverent proposals of this decade. It was founded in 1994 by Cecilia Polite, half Colombian, and half Spaniard, who obtained a degree in plastic arts, with specialization in design, art and image from the Complutence University in Madrid, Spain.

Polite’s designs are a true expression of the plastic artist’s self-universe. Each piece of each collection shows a completely unleashed creative talent that makes the brand stands out among the greatest brands of this time. That creative talent, and the uniqueness of the brand’s proposal has opened the doors for Polite to some the most important fashion events worldwide such as: Pure London and Paris Fashion Week, among others.

CAMILO ALVAREZ, his inspiration comes from the urban surroundings in which he lives. His objective is to make a bond between communication and fashion. Camilo Alvarez lives, breathes and designs in Medellin, Colombia. His career as a designer began after his graduation project walked down the runway at Colombia Moda the top fashion international even in Medellin, Colombia. Soon after this show Camilo was offered a place at LAF, a show for Latin Fashion in the SIMM (Madrid international Fashion).

TATA JOLIE, Mari Carmen Vargas is the creative mind behind Tata Jolie. Born and raised in Venezuela from Spaniard parents, Mari grew up within a dual culture (Latin and European), and that mix is reflected in the style of the collections she designs. Contemporary, modern and chic, inspired by European fashion and with a clear Latin twist. Mari designs for a woman that embraces her freedom and defines her own style by challenging any stereotypes. Tata Jolie’s woman is active, motivated and self-confident. Tata Jolie utilizes fine silks to create a sense and a feeling of freedom and femininity, and distills a touch of classy irreverence into its designs’ shapes and forms.

JOHN DUNN, closing the Dallas show, was born in Pittsburgh; he received his formal education at the famous Parsons School of Design in New York. Upon graduation he joined Vera Wang where he helped launch her industry-changing ready to wear bridal collection. In 2009, Dunn departed New York for the Caribbean, relocating to San Juan, Puerto Rico, where he established his namesake atelier. Known for exquisite tailoring, sublime fabrics, fine design and craftsmanship, he has continued to show his collections in San Juan and New York. Architectural, pure, sculptural, precise, sensual, sleek, modern, classic, practical, feminine, elegant … His style is American with a European influence and Latin flair.

CELEBRITY EMCEE, GABRIELA NATALE, is the host and co-executive producer of SuperLatina, the two-time EMMY-nominated syndicated talk-show, as well as an Entertainment & Lifestyle blogger. As the President of AGANAR Media, Gaby Natale is one of the few women in the entertainment industry who owns not only the rights to her TV show but also a TV studio, a unique situation that allows her to combine her passion for television and her entrepreneurial spirit. Gaby’s versatility as host is also revealed during her signature interviews. She has secured interviews and exclusives with headliners as varied as Enrique Iglesias, Thalia, Gloria Trevi, Paulina Rubio, Hollywood legend Edward James Olmos, NBA sensation Manu Ginobili and former president George H.W. Bush, among others. Over the years, Gaby has received many awards and nominations. SuperLatina’s signature “Dreams-come-True” segment “Misión SuperLatina” received a Lone Star EMMY nomination. In 2008, SuperLatina was named Best Magazine Show by the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters beating all English-language shows in the same category.
